Fundraiser Cake Stall - Friday 7th May 2010 |
|
In light of the amazing success of our last cake stall, the FBC Committee has decided that for 2010 we are going to try holding 2 cake stalls. We all agreed that holding the first stall around Mother's Day this year would be most beneficial to FBC. The RBWH Foundation are holding their Mother's Day Appeal on Friday 7th May 2010 so we are going to join in on this day with our stall while the hospital is buzzing with activity. It is only 2 1/2 weeks away so we will have to dig out those recipe books quickly. For those that haven't baked for the cake-stall before, please continue reading through the guidelines to the end to see how it works......
I hope I'm not being too ambitious but I am hoping to equal the proceeds of our last stall which was $2000. We are making a donation to the refurbishment of the Birth Centre as well as holding our own FBC stall at the upcoming Pregnancy, Babies & Children's Expo. We endeavour to raise awareness about the Birth Centre within the Community and keep our Birth Centre standard high, but we need funds to do it. Although I think this goal might be a bit high, I think we have the supporters to do it and I can't wait to get baking and see our tables stacked with all the beautiful goods we create.
Below is a notice which outlines all of the guidelines for your baking and any other information you should need. In order to get started on the planning, we need to organise our drop-off points. Nominating yourself as a drop-off point means that on the day before the stall, bakers can drop their baking off to your house up until 6pm. If you can remember to leave out an esky in an accessible place, you don't even need to be home for the day. After 6pm you gather all of the baking and deliver it to the Birth Centre or to the nearest person that will be attending the stall from opening time (we will notify you of those people closer to the time). It's just a way of making it easier for more people to bake when they don't have to drive so far to deliver it. If you think that this is something you would be able to do please send a reply email that includes your name, address and contact phone numbers.
If you have any questions after reading this and all of the information below, I am more than happy to answer them so please contact me. You will receive another email a week before the stall to notify you of the drop-off points. It will also include some last minute hints and tips. Please feel free to forward this email to your village, the more supporters we have, the more funds we can raise for our Birth Centre.
Looking forward to hearing from you,
Tamara Neill
